Sky Stunt - Getting Started

You will need:

  • 1 x Sky Stunt Plane
  • 1 x Remote Control
  • 6 x AA Premium Alkaline Non-Rechargeable Batteries (not included)
  • 1 x Phillips Screwdriver (not included)

Install the batteries. Open the battery compartment on the back of your controller using a Phillips head screwdriver. Place the 6 AA batteries in the battery compartment, making sure you are putting these in the right way.

Charge your plane. Plug the controller wire into the plane, move the power switch on the controller into the Chg position, and you will see a red charge LED light up on the controller. The plane is now charging. When both remote lights turn on together, your plane will be ready to fly.

Check your environment. The Sky Stunt is outdoor only so before flying, make sure your weather conditions are good. For the best flight, fly in calm, low wind conditions warmer than 50 F degrees.

Turn the plane and the controller on. Have fun.

Where can I fly my Sky Stunt?

You Sky Stunt should be flown in a large, wide-open grassy location. The area you are in should have lots of space to fly with no buildings, trees, overhead wires or other things that could get in the way.

Fly on mild, sunny days – don’t fly in electrical storms, rain, sleet, snow, strong winds or any other kind of bad weather. Don’t bring it outside if the weather is below 7C/45F.

Indoor flight is only recommended if you’re able to use it in a very large space, such as an empty gymnasium or arena.

Follow these tips and you will be an expert pilot in no time!

How do I charge my Sky Stunt?

What you need:

  • 1 x Sky Stunt plane
  • 1 x Sky Stunt remote/charger with batteries already installed.

  1. Your remote control for your Sky Stunt plane is also your charger. Flip down the charge cable cover located in the middle of your controller indicated by the "AIR HOGS" logo.

  2. Make sure that both the Remote and the Sky Stunt power switches are turned to the “OFF” position.

  3. Plug in the end of the charging wire into the charge port square on the side or bottom of the plane. You will want to make sure that the little arrow on the end of the charge cord lines up with the arrow on the charge port of the toy.

  4. Once plugged in, turn the power switch on the Remote Control/Charger up to the "CHG/ON" position. You will know that the Plane is charging when you see the charging light powered up on the remote.

  5. When charge is complete, both the power and the charge lights on the remote will turn on. Once complete, turn everything off and unplug and store the cord back in the remote. You are now ready to fly!

My Sky Stunt is turning to the side! What do I do?

If your Sky Stunt plane is turning to the side on its own, the first thing you’re going to want to do is check all your propellers to see if there is any hair or debris caught in that area. Even just one little piece of hair can make your plane fly out of control!

Now try and fly your plane. If it’s still turning to the side, the next step would be to "trim" your plane.
See that little dial on your controller that says "Trim"? This will help you get your plane to fly straight.

    Setting the Trim:

    1. Figure out which direction your plane is turning. Are you turning to the left (counter-clockwise) or to the right (clockwise)?
    2. Make sure your remote is pointed at the plane for the best possible response.
    3. Give your plane a bit of throttle and get it up in the air. Start trimming in the opposite direction of the turn.
      • If your plane is turning to the right (clockwise), turn the trim dial counter-clockwise.
      • Same thing goes for the other way around. If your plane is turning to the left (counter-clockwise), turn the trim dial clockwise.

The trim might need to be fixed after charging the plane and it will definitely need to be adjusted after crashes!

Sometimes you’ll need to rotate the trim dial only a little way around, and sometimes you’ll need to rotate the trim dial a little more. Try trimming it just a little bit. If it seems like it’s working, but it’s not quite there yet, turn it some more. It’ll even out eventually, so be patient!

If your plane starts to turn the other way after trimming, you may have over-trimmed! If this happens, all you need to do is trim it in the opposite direction.

If you’ve trimmed your plane and it is still turning on its own, check for the following:

Signal Interference: Fly outdoors in calm to low wind conditions. Make sure you are also not flying around other R/C products that might be sharing the same channel/frequency/bandwidth.
Batteries: For trimming to work, your plane needs to be fully charged. Make sure you are using brand new, premium, non-rechargeable batteries.

If your plane is still turning, give our Customer Care Team a call at 1-800-622-8339 and they’ll love to help out!

Are there replacement parts available for my Sky Stunt?

If your plane’s propellers have been damaged, the good news is they can be easily replaced with one of the two spare rotors included in your Sky Stunt’s box. Simply slide the old blade off and replace it with one of the new blades and you’ll be good to fly again!

If the Styrofoam body of your plane is damaged, a little bit of clear packing tape will fix it.

While other parts may not be replaceable, we would love to see if there is anything we can do for you. Give our Customer Care Department a call at 1-800-622-8339 and they will be glad to help you out!
